General purpose

Comprehensive care, research, advice and implementation of programs that offer resolution to the different points of family dysfunction, couples and individuals, who require support to face crisis situations.

  • Identify the modalities of attention in the problem of dysfunctional families.

  • Elaborate and develop on the basis of local experience and that of other countries, an own model of comprehensive care for families.

  • Establish a National Network of Centers specialized in the control and comprehensive care of the problem of family dysfunction.

  • Achieve greater coverage and higher levels of care for the population, under conditions of effectiveness, efficiency and equity in the provision of services and based on the needs of Venezuelan families.

  • Carry out the clinical or diagnostic evaluation of the citizens who are referred or who request attention for presenting violent and aggressive behaviors against the family nucleus.

  • Promote technical cooperation between institutions, agencies, non-governmental organizations, public and private entities or organized communities.

  • Plan and ensure the insertion of the individual in the family nucleus, among others depending on the situation.

  • Create and develop regional entities, municipal states called "Family Orientation Centers" (CENOF).

  • Establish agreements with universities in the country and abroad for the development of teaching and research activities related to family welfare.

  • Design, plan, structure, formulate and execute programs in coordination with the Ministries and agencies on family welfare.

  • Design, promote and execute institutional campaigns related to family welfare, aimed at the general population and those who cannot attend basic, secondary and university education programs, as well as parents and representatives of the students.

  • Ensure prevention, care and monitoring of citizens who demand assistance for presenting any of the problems that affect the family nucleus; guaranteeing the timely assistance and protection of children and adolescents at risk, women, people with physical or metal disabilities, the prison population, people living on the street, indigenous people and the border population.

  • Promote training and lifelong learning on the subject.

  • Initiate coordinated actions with the ministries with competence in the areas of work, education, defense, agriculture and lands, women, sports, culture, interior, justice and peace, communes, among other relevant areas, aimed at contributing to the objectives to be achieved. through Inafam and its national network.

  • Design an information system with high technology for operational control purposes and achieve the creation of a network of services for the prevention, care and monitoring of the treated family.

  • Carry out the dissemination of the programs and services of the Institute.

  • Promote research, teaching and scientific innovation in the field of family well-being.

  • Design the institutional technical-scientific, didactic, operating and process materials and instruments, which must, from the scope of their competence, guide the operation for the comprehensive care of the family or any of its members.

  • Design the norms and procedures manuals that will guide the administrative and operational actions of the Family Guidance Centers.

  • Establish the protocols to be followed by the specialized centers through the operating rules.

  • Offer psychotherapeutic care to families, couples and individuals who have psychological problems affecting the healthy coexistence of the family.

  • Advise and execute training, research and attention programs at the national level.

  • Develop programs for the prevention of family conflicts at the national level, promoting the strengthening of the Venezuelan family.

  • Train professionals and community leaders to serve families experiencing crisis, as well as Psychological Assessments and Learning Therapy.

  • Train multipliers in the communes to expand the networks for the prevention of violence, addiction and abuse against children and adolescents, among other psychosocial problems, in coordination with other related organizations.

  • Advise organizations, institutions, foundations, among others, in the design of intersectoral policies and plans in the family area.

  • Offer technical support in the family area to national and international institutions for the development of training programs for professionals and parents.

  • Others allowed by the legislation that regulates the matter, the regulations and operating standards.
